They moved back to Andrews in 1997, where he has been a consultant in the oil and gas industry in the Permian Basin. He had worked for Haliburton in Andrews and Fleet Energy in Eastland. He had worked for Forrest Lumber Company in Lubbock, and Mustang Lumber in Andrews. He married Kathi Lynne Kent on Jin Knox City, Texas.
